Real Estate career began as a part time agent in order to pay his way through the University of Richmond, from which he graduated in 1973. He began a full time career in 1974 with the firm of Rennie and Wallace and was nominated for Rookie of the year. He acquired his Brokers license just one year later, and in 1978, along with his college fraternity brother he started the niche firm of McCullough , Brooks and Innes (later Brooks & Innes, Inc.; specializing in Rural and Urban Premium and Historic properties. From the sales of multifamily rental properties in the Historic Fan District, there arose a need for more professional management of their clients’ investment properties than was available at that time, so they began a property management division. With the new field of computer science, Jim and Tom purchased a DOS based Commodore and began one of the city’s first computerized property management businesses. In the following years they completed over a thousand transactions, including custom homes, lot sales, farm and timberland, condominium conversions, apartment complexes, investment tax credits, shopping centers, property management; and acquired the franchise of Remax Commonwealth. While continuing to sell real estate through Remax Commonwealth, Jim spun the management business off as a separate entity, renaming it RentInRichmond.com, in 2007. Jim is a member of Western Henrico Rotary.

is a native of Richmond; growing up in Roanoke and then settling in Annapolis MD where she raised her three children. She spent 28 years in her first career in Special Education, earning two Masters finishing as both a teacher and the director of the Special Ed department at Tuckahoe Middle School. Fran has been active in civic groups as President of the Junior League of Annapolis and President of the Board of Good Neighbor Village in Varina. She returned to Richmond in 2002 to be closer to family.

Fran entered her second career, joining Jim in the real Estate industry in 2007. She acquired her Brokers license in 2010 and, utilizing her years of people management, she became the Associate Broker of RentInRichmond.com.

Fran and Jim are both active in the real estate industry and their community. Fran is an active member of The Women’s Club, and both enjoy St James’s Church on Franklin St in The Fan.

John has lived in Richmond all his life and appreciates the history of the Fan and understands the unique qualities of its buildings. John manages properties that cater to VCU off-campus students all the way to upscale homes in the West End. John graduated from VCU in 1985 and earned his designation as a Certified Apartment Manager in 1998. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Residential Property Managers and the Virginia Association of Realtors Property Managers Council. John understands the needs of RentInRichmond.com’s property owners and works closely with our great Tenants with a high degree of customer service. born and raised in Richmond, Virginia-Whit grew up in our real estate office doing every task and holding almost every position possible in the company. He now finds himself at the helm armed with degree from Hampden-Sydney and work experience from across the country. In California he founded a custom metal fabrication company in 2007 and moved it back to Richmond in 2011. He got his license in 2012 and will be working on obtaining his brokerage license later this year.

He is passionate about cycling and building an inclusive community. Whit also enjoys motorcycle touring, jeeping and anything on the water. He serves on the board of several non profits including IAMRVA and the Virginia Bicycle Federation as well volunteering with the bicycle program for Sportable.

is a native of Birmingham Alabama. Her husband and their three children moved to Richmond in 2012 from Rock Hill, SC. Lynn holds a BS in Finance from Troy University. She has twelve years of property management and fifteen years of accounting experience. In her spare time Lynn and her husband are busy traveling with their daughters’ national travel volleyball teams. In addition to the girls travel, Lynn and her husband enjoy watching their son compete on different levels of the FLW bass fishing league across the country. She immensely enjoys her job and the people at Rent in Richmond and is thankful to them for a great opportunity.
